County, New Jersey |

|
Bergen County, nestled
in the northeast corner of New Jersey, is
the wealthiest, most populated and most
educated county in the state. Founded in
1683 as one of the four original counties
of New Jersey, Bergen has much to boast
about, from incredible school systems to
a diverse population to breathtaking natural
resources.
Bergen is
bordered on the east side by the Palisades
which drop off 550 feet to the mighty Hudson
River. The George Washington Bridge meets
Bergen County in Fort Lee and is used daily
by many Bergen residents. |
|
From Rockleigh on the northern border to
Englewood Cliffs just above the Bridge,
exclusive houses and park-like properties
are the norm. Below the Bridge, condominium
towers offer breathtaking river and New
York City views. The Ramapo Mountains in
the northwest offer exciting getaways and
tranquil sojourns. Lakes, rivers, parks
and panoramic views are plentiful. The borough
of Ridgewood anchors northwest Bergen, with
a rich assortment of restaurants, arts and
community activities.
Bergen County is extrememly desirable for
family living. As a state, New Jersey ranks
at the very top in education. And Bergen in
particular has many of the state's top school
systems. Crime is very low, communities are
tight-knit, and quality of life is high.
